MEREDITH B. KAYE BIOGRAPHY
From a young age, I've been involved with art, in one form or another. As a child I wanted to be an art teacher. That evolved into drawing and painting, which then evolved into photography, and lastly ended with graphic design, of which I have my Bachelor's Degree in. I took that degree so far as some freelance work here and there for a few indie films based out of New York.
For personal reasons, my art career took a permanent back seat, and never branched out further. I don't regret any of it, because it brought me to where I am today. I've always had a love for the written word, but usually preferred to sit back and read them rather than create them myself. It's only within the last year that I've been getting the itch to create something of my own for others to read.
So, if you prefer something a little darker, with a plethora of spice, some sarcasm and humor, then welcome to my world. Please, come in and enjoy!
When I'm not busy concocting a new character and plot, you can find me curled up on the couch with a book, or a Lego box set to build. My puppy will most likely be vying for my attention, or maybe she just wants the snacks on my table, it's a toss-up. My husband will be fighting me for the remote control, while I tackle him for his recliner. And somewhere, the cat is wanting the puppy to get off the sofa because, "that's his spot."
Just a normal Tuesday.

BOOKS

After the Bough Breaks
She refuses to be controlled again. Not after everything it took her to get out, what it cost her to leave, to rebuild, to learn how to exist without having to watch her every move. Chicago isn't a fresh start, but it's the distance and control that she needs. She doesn't need saving. She doesn't want soft hands. She wants space to breathe, to fight, to put herself back together on her own terms without anyone trying to shape her into something she isn't.
The men next door don't ask for permission, but they don't try to control her either. They see her, all of her - every sharp edge, every fracture she keeps buried - and they want her just the same. Tristan watches her like she's already his problem to handle. Michael gets under her skin with a steadiness she can't shake. And Erik watches silently, noticing everything she doesn't say aloud, and holds onto it anyway.
None of them try to own her, but they already know this thing between them is growing teeth, and soon none of them will want to escape. So, when the past she ran from starts closing in, they don't hesitate. They step in. Because somewhere beyond the life she's rebuilding, the man she escaped is already moving toward her again. And this time, he won't let her get away, by any means necessary.
